The firm of Cogdill Nichols Rein traces its roots in Everett and Snohomish County to the 1960's.
The Firm's practice emphasizes trial work with members employers, unions and employees as plaintiffs and defendants in major litigation throughout the State of Washington and in the Federal Courts. Firm members have practiced before all levels of our State Courts and before Federal District Courts and the Federal Court of Appeals.
Areas Of Practice
Personal Injury:
Firm members have successfully recovered millions of dollars for victims of disabling and fatal automobile accidents and highway design negligence, E-Coli bacteria, product liability, and medical and other professional negligence. Over $8,000,000 has been recovered for victims of negligence in the past few years alone. This representation has led not only to significant recoveries for the Firm's clients, but has played a small role in reforming practices of these agencies and corporations. The firm represents clients in a wide variety of personal injury matters, including automobile and boating accidents, work place accidents, premises liability, products liability, wrongful death, disability, burns, brain damage, and soft tissue injuries.
Real Estate:
The firm represents clients in a variety of real estate matters, including disputes, regarding boundary lines, adverse possession and quiet title actions, restrictive covenants, neighborhood associations, easements, purchase and sale agreements, and personal and commercial landlord tenant matters.
Family Law:
The firm represents clients in nearly all areas of Family Law, including dissolution of marriage, complex dissolutions, non-marital relationships, legal separations, child custody actions, child support and maintenance, guardianships, and adoptions.
Estate Planning:
The firm provides a variety of estate planning assistance and advice for it's clients, including the preparation of Wills, community property agreements, Living Wills, and powers of attorney. The firm also provides representation in probate and guardianship matters.
General Litigation:
Members of the firm maintain an active trial practice in both State and federal courts in Washington. The firm continues to successfully represent employers and small business owners, as well as Labor Unions and employees incident to employment related matters including grievances, arbitrations, wrongful termination, wage claims and discrimination claims. Firm members represent clients as plaintiffs and defendants in trials and litigation involving wrongful termination, public and private sector employment, real estate, restrictive covenants, commercial and private contracts, profit and non-profit corporations and partnerships, and family law matters.
